प्रवेशार्हताविवरणम् /Eligibility Criteria
A. Shastri with Sahitya-Shastra (Alankara-shastra)- / BA with major Sahityam /Equivalent exam.
OR
B. Any Graduation (with or without Sanskrit / BA/Bsc/BCom/BBA/LLB etc.) + pass in Acharya Bridge (Sahityam).
OR
C. Any Graduation (with or without Sanskrit) + pass in Sahitya-Acharya Entrance Test.
Note –
- For above mentioned A & B category, Entrance test is not required.
- This is a Post Graduation programme in Sanskrit with specialization in Sahityam.
- 05 papers of 100 marks each year.
- Those who passed general B.A. or equivalent exam of any University with Sanskrit for mere 200 marks (in entire 3years) but obtained the knowledge of basic Shastric texts of Sahitya-Shastra(such as साहित्यदर्पणम्, अलङ्कारशास्त्रपरिचयः, मेघदूतम्, नैषधीयचरितम्, कादम्बरी, उत्तररामचरितम् etc.), may get admission in to Acharya after passing Acharya Entrance Test in concerned Shastra.
- Graduation in any subject & knowledge of basic texts of a Sahitya-Shastra (such as साहित्यदर्पणम्, अलङ्कारशास्त्रपरिचयः, मेघदूतम्, नैषधीयचरितम्, कादम्बरी, उत्तररामचरितम् etc.). is must for writing Acharya Entrance test. Those who do not have this, are advised to apply for either Acharya Bridge or Shastri- Bridge based on other eligibility criteria and their understanding level of Sanskrit.

A. Pass in Prak Shastri or +2 / Intermediate with Sanskrit or Equivalent exam.
OR
B. Pass in +2 / intermediate without Sanskrit + pass in Shastri-Bridge programme / U.Madhyama/ Kovida / Diploma in Sanskrit language.
OR
C. Pass in +2 / intermediate without Sanskrit + pass in Shastri- Entrance Test
Note – For above mentioned A & B category, Entrance test is not required.
Candidates having passed intermediate (+2) without Sanskrit, but having basic Sanskrit knowledge (ability of reading, writing and speaking Sanskrit without proper certification) may only apply for Shastri-Entrance Test for entry in Shastri. [Those who do not have any background of Sanskrit, may directly apply for Shastri-bridge programme instead of applying for Shastri- Entrance Test.]
· 06 papers of 100 marks each every year.
A. Pass in 10th with Sanskrit or equivalent.
OR
B. Pass in 10th without Sanskrit + pass in Prak-Shastri-Bridge programme / any certificate course in Sanskrit Language conducted by reputed Institution
OR
C. Pass in 10th without Sanskrit + Prak-shastri Entrance Test
Note – For above mentioned A & B category, Entrance test is not required.
Those who have passed 10th without Sanskrit but possessed basic Sanskrit knowledge of high school level (either through self study / Gurukula study etc. i.e. without proper certification) are eligible for Prak-Shastri after passing oral Prak-shastri-Entrance Test.

Here good basic knowledge of Sanskrit means having not only ability of reading, writing and speaking Sanskrit but also having full clarity on सन्धि, समास, कारक, विभक्ति, अजन्त, हलन्त, सर्वनाम, विशेषण-विशेष्यभाव, शतृ-शानच्, क्त्वा, तुमुन्, ल्यप्, परस्मैपद, आत्मनेपद, लकार, विविध-लकारेषु कर्तरि-कर्मणि-भावेप्रयोगाः, संख्या-संख्येय etc. Full clarity on these subjects is must for entering to this programme.
- This course is intended for higher learning in Sahitya-Shastra . This Diploma will be considered as Acharya Bridge programme also.
- Please note that Graduation is not essential to enter this course if one possesses Sanskrit language efficiency as defined above. But those having graduation in any discipline (with or without Sanskrit) may apply for Acharya (M.A) in Sahitya-Shastra after completing this Diploma (i.e. Shastravagahani/Acharya Bridge with Sahitya-Shastra). Thus this course will serve as Acharya Bridge programme for those only who are graduates in any discipline.
- Those who are presently studying in regular mode at graduation /PG level (Shastri/Acharya etc.) may also take this Distance-course additionally to study Jyotisha-Shastra as an enrichment programme if they have language efficiency as specified above.
- Direct admission based on self-certification regarding required language efficiency mentioned above. No Entrance Test.
- 6 papers of 100 marks each.

- Those who are undergoing any other regular course any where may also take this course as enrichment- programme.
- 2 papers of 100 marks each [basic knowledge of Sanskrit (ability of understanding, and speaking simple Sanskrit) can be achieved through this course. This certificate course is considered as Prak-Shastri Bridge course also]
